Reviewer: Taelor M I chose this book because my teacher recommended it to me. Now I love it. I think the author's idea was to show people how badly the Jewish were treated. A part of this story states that some people did not even believe the Jewish people were human. The main character, Bruno, becomes friends with Shumel and meet at a fence for the Out-With camp and become friends. The boys are always honest and try to be happy during bad times. I dont want to say much more. You'll understand if you read the book. I recommend it!

Reviewer: Caleb D I normally do not like fantasy, but the cover of this book looked really cool so I tried it. It is similar to The Hobbit, which is a book that I do like. In Chapter 10 they go to a white tower in a majestic place filled with horrible creatures. I won't tell you more as that is the climax of the story. It was also my favorite part. If you like suspense and action this is a good book. I actually want to read the others in the series now too! Author: Sigmund Brouwer
Reviewer: Mason M Imagine living on Mars in the year 2039 as an experiment. You only have enough oxygen for 180 people and there are 200 people there. Who will survive? This science fiction book and others in the series have won awards, and I like science fiction so I picked it up. The oxygen crisis in this story does work out fortunately. There is a lot of suspense that builds up as you read. I would recommend this story to anyone who likes Science fiction. It is really easy to get caught up in the story and it is filled with surprises and an unexpected energy. There are 5 books in the series. I cannot wait to keep reading the rest! Author: Wendy Mass
Reviewer: Maggie L This is a fantasy book that caught my attention when I looked at the cover. Since my 11th birthday will be here soon, I thought I would read it. This story is about Leo and Amanda who are 10 years old and were best friends when they were younger. They celebrate their birthdays together because they were born on the same day. As they have grown older, Amanda overheard Leo tell his friends that he did not really like to hang out with her. He doesn't truly feel that way, but was trying to be cool around his friends. The story is about how their birthdays keep repeating and they need to stop that day. It is also about friendship. I would recommend this book to my friends and other kids my age. There are funny parts to the story and it is good to teach us about being a g Author: Frank E. Peretti
Reviewer: Judah M This is a story about Jay and Lila Cooper and their Dad, Dr. Cooper, who is a scientist. They go to Africa to find out about a big stone that is there. On their way, they meet Dr. Henderson, but the plane they are on crashes and they encounter a group of people called the Togwanas. They capture them and bring them to the chief. Dr. Cooper tells the chief that they are Americans and they allow the people to stay. I love mysteries and adventure and the cover of this book made me feel like it was going to be interesting. I recommend this book to anyone with similar interests. Author: Rania Telgemeier
Reviewer: Nayeli A I read the short paragraph in the back of the book and it seemed like a good story, so I picked it up. It is about a girl and her experience having braces. It is a realistic story. You should read this book because it is funny but also tells you about how Raina feels. She is really embarrassed at times having braces and a retainer because everyone makes fun of her. But she ends up getting used to them. It teaches us that no matter how bad things are you should still try to smile. Author: Joan Hulub and Suzanne Williams
Reviewer: Lynn N This is a fantasy story about many of the Greek gods and goddesses. It is mostly about Medusa, a girl who goes to Mount Olympus Academy. There is a lot of comedy and adventure in this story. Medusa wants to be an immortal like the others at the Academy because it would make her more popular. Author: Raina Telgemeier
Reviewer: Adrian C. I chose this book because it looked interesting. It is a realistic fiction story that could happen in real life and is a good book if you have ever been someone who has been bullied. Raina's classmates always make fun of her. She has a lot of courage because she is brave when she goes to school and the kids make fun of her because of her teeth and getting braces put on them. Kids always make fun of her, but she is brave. I read the graphic novel version of this story and it was really funny. Author: Rick Riordan
Reviewer: Hernan B Do you like Egyptian magic or gods? This could be the book for you then. This is a fantasy book because there are magic powers. The story is about three people and the Egyptian god, Set, who came back to life. Carter and Sadie are trying to save the world from him, as Set is the most evil of all the Egyptian gods. Set is trying to take over the world with a big storm that would destroy everyone and take the throne back from Osiris. My favorite part of the book was when Carter and Sadie fought the Moose, who was a Set animal. I recommend this book to anyone who likes magic and Egyptian gods, and lots of excitement. There is a lot of action and strategy in this book. Author: Rachel Renee Russell
Reviewer: Cheyanne B This realistic fiction book is about Nikki who has a crush on Brandon. There is a Sweet Heart Dance coming up and Nikki is scared to ask Brandon because she thinks he will say no. She has a "dorky diary" that she writes in all the time, every little thing. Nikki has lots of emotions and we see them in the story - sad, mad, happy, excited, confused. Her little sister also annoys her all the time. If you like love stories and realistic fiction I think you would like this book. I call this 'dorky love" because it is about a dork and her love for another kid. I hope you read it! |
