Author: James Patterson
Reviewer: Maddie L Have you ever had the option to go to a comedy contest? In this story, Jamie Grimm was motivated to be in such a comedy contest. His uncle told him to. I loved the part of the story when Jamie went to New York City. He was rolling in his whelchair on the sidewalk when he saw a rat...I won't tell you the rest though! If you love great books, that also teach you about the importance of acceptance, pick up this one!

Reviewer: Tyler P This is a realistic fiction book that I selected because I have loved the previous Wimpy Kid books that I have read. In this story, Greg wants to play video games all summer but his mom does not let him. So, he goes off to the country club where many adventures take place. This story is about being thankful for what you have and I highly recommend it. Author: Donna Gephart
Reviewer: Emma W I honestly thought this was a great novel. Main character, David Greenberg, is scared of starting middle school and on top of that, gets into a fight with his best friend. David's mom leaves home, without a phone, to live on a farm in Maine. There are even more things that happen in this story that make you feel bad for David. I recommend this book if you like reading about Middle School. There are many funny times, but also some sad ones as well. Author: Jack Gantos
Reviewer: Alex K This realistic fiction story is a sequel to the novel, Dead End in Norvelt. I loved the first book because it was humorous and a murder mystery. Imagine - you fall into a septic tank and then learn that you are going to New York with your 90-year-old neighbor, who has arthritis, just to go see Eleanor Roosevelt's grave because that same neighbor loved Mrs. Roosevelt for creating Norvelt. Jack's summer is a disaster due to this and more. I recommend this book to you if you love humor and murder mysteries. Author: Frank Cottrell Boyce
Reviewer: Mateo A This realistic fiction novel is a story about a boy named Liam and his adventures in space. He is an oversize, very tall 12 year old boy that looks like a 30 year old man! Liam's adventures start when he les and uses his looks to enter into a contest for dads and children. It was a chance to ride in a real rocket ship into space, which was one of Liam's greatest dreams. He ended up being one of 5 winners, but since he doesn't look like a kid, he needed to find one. I loved this book and I would really like to recommend it to anyone who likes space adventures or comedy. I laughed so hard and could not put it down. Author:
Reviewer: Rachel C This is a mystery book but also realistic fiction at times. Have you ever thought that everything around you is just falling apart? Well that is how Teddy Fitzroy feels all the time. Someone poisoned the zoo's mascot, Henry the Hippo, and made him go Belly Up! I recommend this to anyone who likes a good laugh and who is around my age. Author: Raina Telgemiere
Reviewer: Denis C. Have you ever felt like someone was making fun of you? This happens a lot in this story. Lots of people told me to read this because it was interesting and because there was a medal on the cover. Raina is the main character and she has braces and must face lots of problems and bullying. She wants to be popular but people always tease her. My favorite part was when Raina fell and broke her teeth. It was sad that she didnt have her two front teeth but also funny at times. I recommend this book because it will make you laugh! Author: Raina Telgemiere
Reviewer: Jenny M This is a Realistic fiction book because it could happen in real life. It looked interesting when I saw the cover so I picked it up. Raina is bullied by girls and always needs to stand up for herself and never give up. Especially when she got braces. There is a lot of funny parts in this story. Author: Rania Telgemeier
Reviewer: Nayeli A I read the short paragraph in the back of the book and it seemed like a good story, so I picked it up. It is about a girl and her experience having braces. It is a realistic story. You should read this book because it is funny but also tells you about how Raina feels. She is really embarrassed at times having braces and a retainer because everyone makes fun of her. But she ends up getting used to them. It teaches us that no matter how bad things are you should still try to smile. Author: Raina Telgemeier
Reviewer: Adrian C. I chose this book because it looked interesting. It is a realistic fiction story that could happen in real life and is a good book if you have ever been someone who has been bullied. Raina's classmates always make fun of her. She has a lot of courage because she is brave when she goes to school and the kids make fun of her because of her teeth and getting braces put on them. Kids always make fun of her, but she is brave. I read the graphic novel version of this story and it was really funny. |
