Reviewer: Taelor M I chose this book because my teacher recommended it to me. Now I love it. I think the author's idea was to show people how badly the Jewish were treated. A part of this story states that some people did not even believe the Jewish people were human. The main character, Bruno, becomes friends with Shumel and meet at a fence for the Out-With camp and become friends. The boys are always honest and try to be happy during bad times. I dont want to say much more. You'll understand if you read the book. I recommend it!

Reviewer: Seleena D This story is a historical fiction book that a few of my friends gave great reviews. I heard that it was hard to put the story down when I began to read it. Have you ever been in a situation where you have been misled by a friend? If so, wait until you read about what happened to Bruno! This story is about Bruno and his family who moved from Berlin, Germany to Poland. Bruno's father was a commander of a prison camp, and Bruno did not know what his father did at work. Bruno became friends with Shumel who was the same age as him and lived behind a fence and wore striped pajamas. Bruno promised to help Shumel find his papa. At one point, Bruno will go to Shumel's side of the fence, and tell readers about what he sees. I recommend this book to anyone. It was one of the best I have ever read. Author: Francis H. Burnett
Reviewer: Holly H This book is a historical fiction novel with a little mystery to it too. Can you imagine what it would be like to live in a mansion with locked doors and secret gardens? Mary Lennox, a ten year old, has just this experience. She is a young girl whose parents died from cholera. She is sent to live with her uncle at his manor and becomes friends with two boys while there. Colin is bedridden and sick most of his life, and his friendship with Mary shows how friends can help one another become stronger. I recommend this book if you like reading about characters close to your age. Author: James Swanson
Reviewer: Aaron H This book is a historical fiction book about the tragedy of President Lincoln's death. It uses evidence to help find the killer and hopefully convict him. There is a side story to it that I really enjoyed because it reminded me of when my grandparents tell me stories about their lives. A boy gets a book that is about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, in the Ford's Theater. The assassin was upset that the Confederate Army lost the Civil War, so he shot the president. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes sitting on the edge of their seat in suspense. You will not want to stop reading this book! Action and history together! |
