Reviewer: Gabriella K This is a realistic fiction story that I chose because one of my teachers said it was a good story. It is mostly about a dog named Winn-Dixie. I loved the part when Gloria, Winn-Dixie, Opal, and their friends had a party at Gloria's house. It was kind of a dog party with egg salad s

Reviewer: Alexis V Have you ever wondered what it is like to have a barn fire? Well, you are about to find out! In this book, a horse named Starlight senses something is wrong. Then, Hank, the owner of Starlight smells smoke. The barn was on fire! After, friends and family came together to help this family rebuild their barn. I recommend this book to anyone who likes animal stories. It left me wanting to know what happened page after page and the author was very descriptive. Author: Ingrid Lee
Reviewer: Faith Ramsey I chose this book because there was a dog on the front cover and it looked interesting to me. This is an animal story but fits in realistic fiction. Imagine, your dad coming up the stairs, swinging your bedroom door open and dropping a wet bundle on your bed. And this wet bundle has a wet nose, a thumping tail, and a white heart on its ear. Dog Lost is about a boy named Mac and his dog Cash. I recommend this story to anyone who loves true, hopeful books about dogs and their owners. Author: Jessica Burkhart
Reviewer: N'yah D This is a realistic fiction story by an author that I feel is just an amazing writer. I could not stop turning the pages in this story and it made me want to know what will happen next. I was so engrossed that I thought I was actually in the story! This story is about two groups of friends who travel home for Christmas to help with a Holiday Adopt-a-thon. They are trying to help rescue ex-racehorses who are in danger of being euthanized because they can no longer perform in or win races. At times this story could be hard to follow - especially since it is about two different groups of friends and what they are trying to do. But all in all, this story will appeal to anyone in my age group who has ever wanted to either own a horse or who loves horses. Author: E.B. White
Reviewer: Haley C This story is a classic book that has talking animals and is about friendship. Fern saves the smallest pig from being killed and keeps the runt in a box for a week. Her mom said that the pig was getting too big so they had to build a large wooden box under the apple tree in the yard. After keeping the runt for a few weeks they name him Wilbur. Wilbur meets a spider named Charlotte and they become friends. I recommend this to anyone who likes animal stories. It is now one of my favorite stories. |
