Author: Herman Melville
Reviewer: Bradley P. This is a great book about killing whales and life at sea. Melville had a fantastic way with words. The cover is honestly what made me pick it up. Ishmael needs money and he wants to go to sea, so he joins a whaling ship called The Pequod. When he makes a Native American friend named Queequog, the adventure starts right away. After packing for a three year sail, they leave. They meet the ships revenged captain Ahab, who had his leg bitten off by Moby Dick, the great white sperm whale. I really enjoyed this marvelous book. If you like adventure, you will like this story.

Reviewer: Taylor N This mystery book is about eleven year old Olive, who had just moved into her new house on Linden Street with her parents. She came across a violent colored room where there was a chest of drawers. On it's back, she found a pair of spectacles and when she wears them, she can go through special paintings the previous home owner, Mr. McMartin, had made. I loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries. It is like having a puzzle but with no pieces. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Author: S.A. Bodeen
Reviewer: Anna I The Raft is a very adventurous novel that would probably be found in the realistic fiction section of your local library. A friend told me this book was one of her favorites, and it will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat! This book is about never giving up. The main character, Robie, shows great determination and bravery as she tries to get back to her island home after her plane crashes. She must now fight for her life. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure - but there is a little something for everyone in this book! Author: Rick Riordan
Reviewer: Alex H How would you like to be half god and half human? Well that is everyday life for Percy Jackson in this book. As the son of Poseidon, he learns that he can control the movement of water. How cool is that? This fantasy book is recommended if you like action, magic, friendship, and adventure. You can put yourself and see yourself in the quest. Author: Frank Cottrell Boyce
Reviewer: Mateo A This realistic fiction novel is a story about a boy named Liam and his adventures in space. He is an oversize, very tall 12 year old boy that looks like a 30 year old man! Liam's adventures start when he les and uses his looks to enter into a contest for dads and children. It was a chance to ride in a real rocket ship into space, which was one of Liam's greatest dreams. He ended up being one of 5 winners, but since he doesn't look like a kid, he needed to find one. I loved this book and I would really like to recommend it to anyone who likes space adventures or comedy. I laughed so hard and could not put it down. Author:
Reviewer: Rachel C This is a mystery book but also realistic fiction at times. Have you ever thought that everything around you is just falling apart? Well that is how Teddy Fitzroy feels all the time. Someone poisoned the zoo's mascot, Henry the Hippo, and made him go Belly Up! I recommend this to anyone who likes a good laugh and who is around my age. Author: Kazukibuishi
Reviewer: Ricardo M I chose this book because a teacher recommended it to me. There are monsters in this story so it is a fantasy book. Emily's dad died in a car crash and they had to move to the middle of nowhere. She finds her great grandfather's room. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys magic, monsters and action. Author: Raina Telgemiere
Reviewer: Denis C. Have you ever felt like someone was making fun of you? This happens a lot in this story. Lots of people told me to read this because it was interesting and because there was a medal on the cover. Raina is the main character and she has braces and must face lots of problems and bullying. She wants to be popular but people always tease her. My favorite part was when Raina fell and broke her teeth. It was sad that she didnt have her two front teeth but also funny at times. I recommend this book because it will make you laugh! Author: Raina Telgemiere
