Reviewer: Kim L If you have ever had trouble fitting in this book is for you. This story is about a boy named Jason who has autism. It is only a matter of time before something he does goes wrong, like pushing over a pottery wheel, or getting in trouble in art class. Jason writes to get piece of mind. He posts his writing on a Storage Board. When he meets someone online, he finally feels like he has a friend, whom he calls his girlfriend. But, then people pick on him for that too! I really recommend this story to others because of the message it sends about the theme of needing to fit in.

Reviewer: Maddie L Have you ever had the option to go to a comedy contest? In this story, Jamie Grimm was motivated to be in such a comedy contest. His uncle told him to. I loved the part of the story when Jamie went to New York City. He was rolling in his whelchair on the sidewalk when he saw a rat...I won't tell you the rest though! If you love great books, that also teach you about the importance of acceptance, pick up this one! Author: Jeff Kinney
Reviewer: Tyler P This is a realistic fiction book that I selected because I have loved the previous Wimpy Kid books that I have read. In this story, Greg wants to play video games all summer but his mom does not let him. So, he goes off to the country club where many adventures take place. This story is about being thankful for what you have and I highly recommend it. Author: Linda Sue Park
Reviewer: Colin I I chose this book because the front cover looked interesting. it has a pirate ship on it. There is a brother and a sister named Dan and Amy who are searching for one of the 39 Clues. They traveled to Jamaica and the Bahamas following a clue they found in China. They are given a coded note, which leads them to a mysterious man in black who gives them information that will take them further in the race than they ever thought possible. I would recommend this book to people who like to read about adventures and solving clues. Author: Timothy Zahn
Reviewer: Andrew S I love Star Wars and Science Fiction so this book looked interesting to me. This story is about when the Empire captures Ukio with a secret weapon. Luke Skywalker has to try to stop them by going to many lands. My favorite part was when the Empire is defeated once and for all and all the planets can join in peace. Author: R.J. Palacio
Reviewer: Eli L Imagine you are starting 5th grade, the first grade of middle school. You are a little nervous, right? Now, imagine you have a facial deformity called mandibuloffacialdysostosis. Basically - your eyes are a little lower, your ears are squished in, and your upper lip runs into your squashed nose. For August Pullman - that is his real situation. He starts his first year of school, EVER, with a facial deformity. There are many challenges - particularly a mean kid named Julian who is always saying upsetting things to August. However, a one day, a girl named Summer sits down and has lunch with him. She is always kinder to others than is necessary. Author: Suzanne Collins
Reviewer: Gavin L If you are looking for a great read and something action packed, pick up this book! It was also on the New York Times Best Seller List. I was hooked to this science fiction thriller series as soon as I read the first book. I had to pick up this one then as well! Katniss, Peeta, Finnic, Johanna, and President Snow are all the main characters in this story. President Snow issues the Hunger Games every year, but to seek revenge, he decides this year they will make all the previous winners participate again. There are many twists and turns in this story and you will stay on the edge of your seat. Everyone should read this book! Author: Kate DiCamillo
Reviewer: Gabriella K This is a realistic fiction story that I chose because one of my teachers said it was a good story. It is mostly about a dog named Winn-Dixie. I loved the part when Gloria, Winn-Dixie, Opal, and their friends had a party at Gloria's house. It was kind of a dog party with egg salad s Author: Michael P Spradlin
Reviewer: Ryan K If you enjoy action, then Killer Species is the book for you. This mixes a little fantasy and a little science fiction together. There is some violence that may never make you want to swim in the ocean again though! This story is about a mad scientist named Dr. Catalyst who lives in Florida and creates mixed creatures. One of his creations is a mix between a reef shark and a barracuda that attacks humans and lionfish. He creates this creature to get revenge on Emmett Doyle, a boy who made his other creature (in book 1) turn against him. Will Emmett and Calvin b Author: Wayne Thomas Batson
Reviewer: Brandon M I chose this book because I like to read mystery stories. This book is about a kid named Aidan who dreams about living during the medieval times with knights. He soon realizes that he is just in a dream. |
